Born, raised, and educated both in East and West Texas, Dianne has lived her entire adult life in New Mexico. Beginning in Southwestern NM, then moving to the Southeastern area, and currently in Central NM, she has always been drawn to smaller communities with mountains, valleys, and amazing vistas.
As a wife, mother, and educator, her interest in art was on hold until early retirement allowed her to focus on her interpretation of nature’s beauty. Time spent in San Patricio, a small community in the Hondo Valley where the Hurd / Wyeth family established their studios and home, Dianne worked with several local artists to develop skills first in watercolor, then moving into oils. A relocation to a family farm in Mountainair to help care for her husband and her mother, brought another opportunity to devote time to painting, as well as involvement in local galleries.
